Stress Hair Loss

Many people stress hair loss is not a problem. After all, it is a fact of our daily life that each of us will shed a number of hairs. But hair loss does become a problem for most of us when your body starts shedding hair faster than it can replace it.

If you have experienced hair loss for yourself, you know how distressing and stressful it can be. What can make things worse is once you know that you are losing more hair than normal, the simple worry about the cause and how to cover up that ever increasing thin patch on your scalp can increase your stress levels and exacerbate the problem.

In our daily lives we all experience ranging levels of tension and stress, with some of us coping better than others. If, over a period of time, our body is no longer able to cope with the stress levels it is exposed to, one of the ways it can react and tell us that things need to change is to cause hair loss.

Stress can be caused by many things. Perhaps your workload is too much, perhaps the children have been getting on your nerves all day. Or it could just be that you are worried about a family matter. Stress related hair loss could be due to long exposure to high stress levels. Alternatively, one highly stressful situation such as a family death can also cause trigger hair loss.

Whatever the cause, it is not possible to avoid stress altogether. What you can do as a solution though is to take time out for yourself on a regular basis to de-stress.

As an idea, try a relaxing massage. Maybe take some time out and read a book. Even treating yourself to a manicure or pedicure can be just enough pampering time to cause your stress levels to decrease back to normal. Whatever de-stress solution you find, you need to make sure that you allocate some regular time so that you can keep your stress levels in check and decrease the chance of stress being the cause of your hair loss.

Finally, if your hair loss is stress related the good news is that it is more than likely to be temporary. In which case, some people stress hair loss and hair growth products are the best solution for your problem. But take things one step of a time. Consult your doctor to ensure that stress is the only trigger, and then select a treatment that you feel is right for you.
